![]() ![]() ![]() Uh, I played all of them but in reverse order from that list, so I started with system shock, played all of bioshock out of order, and finally finished just a few days ago with system shock 2. If somebody asked you what order you should play it in, ranked so that the "Best" games come first and the "Worst" games come later, and so that you can gain an appreciation for the genre, I'd say Maybe if they had some crew quarters or some other really distinctive sections with their own goals it might have been more enjoyable. So, I played the shock series in what most people would probably agree is the worst conceivable order. The map is kind of bland in that one part pretty much looks like the rest. So I guess maybe I miss it and the game suddenly doesn't have those extra dimensions.Īlso, maybe it's that the Rickenbacker is such a huge map but you only have one task: destroying all of those eggs. I really loved finding all of that stuff early in the game but it really all becomes irrelevant by the time you reach the Rickenbacker. You have plenty of ammo and other supplies, you've found all of the cool weapons and armor, all the upgrade software, and you have plenty of nanites. By that time you've found really all the cybernetic modules you need. My theory is that it simply has to do with approaching the end of the game and maybe has nothing at all to do with the design of that map at all. Maybe I liked it then.īut now, the Rickenbacker just seems like a chore. I can't even remember what I thought about it the first time I played it. For me, it all comes down to the fact that when replaying the game I get bored when I reach the Rickenbacker. ![]()
